Schlegeis Reservoir

The 13.3 km long Schlegeis Alpine Road starts 1,000 m above sea level and includes 8 hairpin bends as well as 4 tunnels hewn out of natural rock leading to the car parks by the Schlegeis reservoir at about 1,800 m above sea level

There are a number of thrilling adventure points along the road, including a great photo-opportunity vantage point at the Schlegeis dam wall or at the foot of the wall

Mountain Hikes
The car park at the Schlegeis reservoir serves as the starting point for mountain hikes and alpine tours through the Zillertal Alps region.

Guided Dam Tours
Explore the inside of the 725 m long and 131 m high Schlegeis dam! Guided tours meet at the designated assembly point located in front of the Schlegeis summit restaurant.
