Stilluptal
The Stilluptal, some 17 kilometers in length, is the shortest of the four side valleys. A winding 8 km toll road takes you up gradients of as much as 15 percent, until you come to the Stillup Reservoir. Nestled at 1,116m above sea level, it was built in 1966.
The countryside of this valley is simply idyllic, and just waiting for hikers and walkers to explore.
Enjoy this wonderful piece of nature and experience Tyrol from its most beautiful perspective!
This natural paradise begins just beyond Mayrhofen. Buses run from Mayrhofen to Gasthof Wasserfall and the Grüne-Wand-Hütte.
Hike
The starting point for this hike is Gasthaus Wasserfall in the Stillup Valley. From there you make your way alongside the Stillup reservoir and continue to the Grüne-Wand-Hütte. This hut stands in the midst of a glorious alpine meadow, flanked by steep mountainsides.
