Zillertal High Road
The Zillertal High Road is one of the most beautiful alpine roads in Austria.
You can travel the entire High Road up to an elevation of 2020 meters either in your own car, by mountain bike, tour coach or public bus. You will be able to experience the uniquely beautiful panoramas of the Zillertal Alps. And once at the top, you have the opportunity to set out on extended hikes taking you across glorious alpine meadows and along steep mountain paths.
Attractions along the Zillertal High Road include the Hirschbichlalm, owned by the Zillertaler Haderlumpen (Grand Prix winners) and the Almstüberl, home to the Zellberg Buam.
Located at the highest point of the Zillertal High Road is a launch site for hang- and paragliders at an elevation of 2020 m. The highest area of alpine pastures along this road is known as the Pigneid Alm (part of the community of Hippach). There you can set out on delightful hikes with your whole family through meadows filled with rhododendron, discovering the peace and renewed energy you seek.
