Schlegeis Reservoir
The Schlegeis Alpine road begins 1,000 m above sea level, is 13.3 km long, and winds over eight hairpin bends and four natural rock tunnels to the car park at the Schlegeis reservoir approximately 1,800 m above sea level.
Along the road, you will find many marked highlights offering great opportunities for photos, for example the Schlegeis dam and the base of the Schlegeis dam.
The single-lane road that runs from the Breitlahn toll booth to Spiegelschlag Tunnel II is regulated by traffic lights with a waiting period of no more than 15 minutes.
Mountain hiking
The car park at the Schlegeis reservoir is a starting point for mountain hikes and Alpine tours in the Alpine pasture and high-mountain region of the Ziller Valley Alps.
Guided tours of the dam
Enjoy a guided tour of the inside workings of the 725-m long and 131-m high Schlegeis dam! Guided tours begin at the marked spot in front of the Schlegeis mountain restaurant.
