Hiking in the Karwendel and the Zillertal Alps

Here in the Zillertal and Tyrolean Inntal valley, all guests can venture out and hike to their heart's content. With so many trails and tours, you can choose from gentle family hikes, hikes up to lush green alpine pastures, up to the top of grassy green mountains, and even tours up to the glacier ensuring a thrilling challenge for all our guests.

The alpine landscape is perfectly suited for everybody to enjoy delightful walks, gentle hikes, and even mountaineering tours. With so many exciting options such as venturing into the spectacular Wolfsklamm gorge, to the monastery St. Georgenberg, to the charming alpine pastures Ganalm, Walderalm and Hinterhornalm guests can enjoy a different type of hike every day. Further highlights suitable for all guests are hikes up to the Kellerjoch, which also has the option of a chair lift up the mountain from Schwaz, the Spieljochbahn lift in the Zillertal allowing hikes staring at a higher elevation, and wonderful hikes in the Achensee region, which is situated nearby.

Arriving: By car drive from Fügen toward Hochfügen. Turn at Hofer and pass the cable car's halfway station (Kohleralmhof) headed north toward Wildauwald.

The Pfitscherjoch

The Pfitscherjochhaus (www.pfitscherjochhaus.com) is the oldest private mountain hut shelter. The house is located on the Italian-Austrian border in the Ziller Valley Alps 2,276 m above sea level.

The Mountaineering Village of Ginzling

The picturesque village of Ginzling lies 999 m above sea level in the Zemmgrundtal valley, a side valley of the Zillertal valley, against the breath-taking backdrop of the mountains that lie in the Zillertal Alps National Park.

The Nature Park House

The heart of the nature park house is the modern and family-oriented exhibition. Numerous interactive, multimedia stations take you on a journey to search for the lost expedition of the Zillertal Alps of long ago. The Zillertal Activcard and Guest Card for the nature park region offer you a EUR 1.00 reduction.

The Floitental Valley

Bergsteigerdorf Ginzling will bring you to 'Floite', as the valley is known to locals. Against the backdrop of the Dristner mountain, you can take a leisurely hike into the valley to various establishments with refreshments, such as Tristenbachalm, Steinbockhütte, or Sulzalm.
