The Zillertal Höhenstraße is one of the most stunning Alpine roads in Austria. You can travel the entire Höhenstraße and reach an altitude of 2,020 m by car, mountain bike, tour bus, or public bus. Experience the breath-taking views of the Zillertal Alps in one unique panoramic view.
Once you reach the top, you can take a long hike through the beautiful mountain meadows, along steep trails and across wide Alpine pastures.
Excursion destinations along the Zillertal Höhenstraße include the Hirschbichlalm that belongs to the musical group, the Zillertaler Haderlumpen (Grand Prix champions), and the Almstüberl that belongs to the musical group, the Zellberg Buam. At the highest point of the Zillertal Höhenstraße you will find a take-off site for hang-gliders and paragliders at an altitude of 2,020 m.
The highest Alpine pasture on the Zillertal Höhenstraße is the Pigneid Alm in the municipality of Hippach. There you can enjoy beautiful hikes amidst Alpine roses with the entire family and take in the peaceful surroundings as you revitalize.
